| July 18 - 28, Thurs. - Sat. at 7:30; Sun. at 5:00. A. R. Gurney’s “Ancestral Voices: A Family Story,” Directed by Patricia Van Tassel. . This play set in the late 1930s and early 1940s tells parallel stories of a family and a city, both of which are in the process of being marginalized by history. It celebrates the warmth and pull of an extended family and a self- regarding cohesive community, even as that family or that community turns in on itself and ostracizes its rebels. |

| Summer Youth Theater Workshop: "PATHWAYS TO MUSICAL FIREWORKS!" Saturday, July 9 from 10:00am to 4:00pm & Sunday, July 10 from 12:00 to 5:00 pm *A final presentation for the public will take place at 4:00pmon Sunday, July 10. Designed for ages 8 - 18 and beyond, the workshop will focus on the pre-assigned study of famous musical artists of the 1960s through current times and their social responsibility: Jimmy Hendrix * Peter, Paul & Mary * Levon Helms-The Band* David Bowie * Billy Joel * Elton John * Bono * Adele * Jennifer Hudson * Black Eyed Peas * NEYO & Will Smith The workshop will explored music history plus instrumental, vocal, and theater arts, and will be led by Roxbury Central School's Instrumental music teacher SONJA BEARD and Open Eye veteran teaching artist RICHARD GENARO. "PATHWAYS TO MUSICAL FIREWORKS!" replicates a high-level Partnership recently completed at Margaretville Central School which focused on famous modern visual artists, designed and led by Open Eye teaching artist Richard Genaro and classroom teacher Jen Wentland. |
